This lecture provides a political and historical analysis of the genocidal war now being conducted by the Zionist regime in Israel against the Palestinians. While the Israeli government is promoting the far-right rant of a Columbia University Business School professor, opposition to the genocide in Gaza continues to grow among students. On Tuesday, thousands of students across the US and Canada protested the US-backed Israeli genocide of the Palestinians. The hysterical campaign against student activists at Harvard University has laid bare a few truths about the Israeli assault on Gaza, economic inequality and democratic rights. Republican Mike Johnson of Louisiana, a Trump ally and former talk radio host, offered to establish a bipartisan commission with Democrats to formulate spending cuts to slash the federal deficit. Albanese hailed Biden's "moral clarity" on Gaza, which the US president has greenlighted for destruction, while both advanced a confrontation with China that threatens world war. The Socialist Equality Party (UK) will be hosting two public meetings opposing Israel's war on Gaza this November, in London on November 9, and Bradford on November 2. The new legislation is central to the shift in ruling circles to authoritarian rule in response to an upsurge of class struggle and industrial action not witnessed in over 30 years. The funding for the remedial work, needed urgently because of the "critical risk to life", conflicts with the Conservative government and Labour Opposition's commitment to NATO's expanding wars in the Ukraine and the Middle East. The teachers' protest reflects the growing anger in the working class against the austerity policies of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his government. Bullock says central bank "will not hesitate" to lift rates if necessary. The fossil skull, including both jaw and cranium, appears to be from an intermediate form between Homo erectus and Homo sapiens.
