In a move with the most far-reaching and reactionary implications, imperialist governments are banning pro-Palestinian protests, falsely equating them with anti-Semitism and terrorism. Gantz will sit in a special war cabinet alongside Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant to plan the genocidal slaughter of the Palestinians in Gaza already underway. Under Modi, India has forged close ties with Israel. But New Delhi's embrace of the Netanyahu government as it perpetrates horrific war crimes against the Palestinian people is first and foremost a product of its anti-China war alliance with US imperialism. Over 30 student groups at Harvard University are the target of a vicious state-sponsored smear campaign after signing a statement correctly blaming the Israeli regime for the bloody conflict presently raging in Israel and Gaza. As the fascistic Israeli regime pounds the Gaza strip with American bombs and carries out collective punishment against the civilian population of Palestine, DSA Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has condemned pro-Palestinian protests, calling for them to be "shut down." United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain called out 8,700 workers at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville Wednesday, faced with mounting demands from rank-and-file workers for an all-out strike. An article in the industry publication Freight Waves expresses concern within corporate management that workers are not only increasingly militant, but are turning toward socialist politics. In recent months, several of the few memorials to victims of the Terror have been vandalized in Russia, while busts and monuments to Stalin are being erected. The vote of the Republican Conference only intensified the political crisis in Washington, as it appears the House of Representatives will be deadlocked for days, if not weeks, in selecting another presiding officer. ATSIC's record underscores the fact that such advisory bodies have done nothing to resolve the enormous social crisis afflicting ordinary Aborigines, as well as how such organisations work to elevate and enrich a narrow layer of the indigenous elite. With the new record, Waters revisits the themes that have been resonating with generations of audiences for a half-century. Music and the arts are not viewed as something worth supporting by the financial elite because they represent a drain on resources that could be, from the point of view of the capitalists, better spent on investing in the stock market or waging war. Exploding any veneer of "progressivism," every candidate backed the joint US-Israeli military campaign against the Palestinian people. Dozens of Chinese developers have missed payments on loans. The unanimity between the major capitalist parties in backing Israeli repression exposes the sham of the confected "differences" presented in the campaign for New Zealand's October 14 election. Speakers and attendees voiced strong opposition to the full backing given by President Biden and other top US officials to the murderous Israeli onslaught against Gaza.
