Germany is openly assuming dictatorial forms. The government is responding to the enormous opposition that is building up against its relentless militarism. The parliamentary motion said nothing about the mass murder underway in Gaza, instead proclaiming Israel's "right to defend itself." The opposition parties won the parliamentary elections in Poland on Sunday, setting up fierce power struggles. The congress had nothing to do with left-wing politics, let alone "socialism." We urge workers, youth and students to attend this meeting to oppose the US-NATO war against Russia in Ukraine and imperialist-backed Israel onslaught against the Palestinians. "I came today to support freeing the people of Palestine from being locked away in their own homes and treated like prisoners, and to give my support to those who are falling victim to Israeli forces." The failure of three US banks "triggered a crisis of confidence in the resilience of banks, banking systems and financial markets across multiple jurisdictions." "The Labor government is not working class, it is an elite group of people, setting up a puppet called the Voice." Tens of thousands of people in Turkey have joined demonstrations in support of the Palestinian people. Peruvian health workers walked out October 10 over bonus pay while the contract for 5,000 Philadelphia transit workers expires October 31. Impermeable to mass sentiments for radical change, Ecuadorian capitalist politics vomited up the election of a man who personifies privilege and plutocracy. Students are courageously taking a stand for public education in the face of threats from school officials and the police. Throughout the 2023 Detroit Three contract struggle, Unifor has been determined to prevent a joint cross-border struggle against the auto bosses.
