UAW President Shawn Fain is following the same playbook used by the Teamsters at UPS, seeking to disarm and demobilize opposition through various stunts as it prepares to impose a sellout. . The UAW announced a deal Thursday with Ultium Cells, the GM-LG Energy joint venture in Lordstown, Ohio. The management and the unions are trying to push through agreements that would provide no protection from casualisation, excessive workloads and job losses. The answer to the question so often raised by the opponents of even the mildest social reforms "where is the money going to come from?" is answered, at least partially, in data on the extent of share buybacks.
