This most recent attack on women's right to abortion care is targeted at the most popular method of ending a pregnancy in the United States. There is nothing remotely progressive or "left-wing" about Te Pati Māori, whose race-based politics is promoted to divide the working class as it comes into struggle against the assault on living standards at home and war abroad. "Left" union chiefs postured as defenders of workers' interests, while joining hands with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his ministers. There is no substantive difference between the current agreement and the deal that workers decisively voted down in September last year. The planned cuts are widely understood as a frontal assault on the social and cultural rights of workers and youth more broadly.
