The mass pardoning of those who attacked the Capitol sets the stage for widespread violent attacks on those who oppose the policies of the Trump administration. Repeating the tactics used in its criminal war of genocide in Gaza, Israeli forces have surrounded the Khalil Suleiman governmental hospital. Residents in several Jenin neighbourhoods were ordered to leave their homes, and the city, by loudspeaker. The conference hosted over 60 speakers from universities in ten countries and several hundred participants, with a further 2,000 or so people participating online. On the same day Trump ordered 1,500 troops to the Southern border to repel a non-existent "invasion," 46 Democrats joined every House Republican in voting for the Laken Riley Act, a police state measure that requires the incarceration of undocumented immigrants simply accused of petty crimes. In protest of the anti-Chinese banning of TikTok, hundreds of thousands of users have flocked to Rednote, a TikTok-like app available in both China and the US with a substantial Chinese user base. Three days before Trump's swearing in to office, the US Department of Health and Human Services announced that EcoHealth Alliance and its former president, Dr. Peter Daszak, were cut off of all funding and formally debarred for an unprecedented five years. The CABR contains approximately 30 million pages of documents that provide valuable insights into the victims of the Holocaust, resistance fighters against Nazi occupation, and efforts by the Dutch working class to protect Jewish residents from deportation. Southern California, in addition to being a center of the film and television industry, is a major focal point of cultural creation and exhibition. It is also home to remarkable recreational sites, tourist attractions and parks. Santa Clarita, the area affected by the Hughes Fire, is a densely populated community predominantly comprising workers and middle-class families. Deadly low temperatures and snowstorms across much of the entire US reached into Southern US Gulf states on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing areas of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida to a standstill and killing at least 10 people. The disaster is an indictment of the entire ruling elite, including capitalist corporations and officials, who failed to take even the most basic safety precautions against fire and similar hazards for reasons of cost. The years of cover-ups and denials by the German judiciary in this and other cases represents a serious warning. Justice will not come from these forces. The executive order entitled America First Trade Policy set up a new department to try to deal with the fact that tariffs are not paid for by foreign corporations, but by US firms and consumers. The fear of the Mexican ruling class is that Trump's fascist policies and their own complicity will provoke a mass radicalization among workers and youth. The campaign at the Galaha junction, the main entrance to university premises, attracted considerable attention from students and workers, who opposed the ban and expressed their hostility to the government's IMF austerity agenda. Members of the Committee for Public Education recently spoke with several teachers on how conditions in the schools have changed since the imposition of the last Australian Education Union sell-out in 2022. Most educators in the state of Victoria report suffering from poor wages, deteriorating conditions, unsustainable workloads, lack of resources and growing staff shortages. Far from pressuring the government to concede, the mass resignation of staff psychiatrists offers the Labor government an easy opportunity to accelerate a process that is already well underway—the piecemeal privatisation of public health. The efforts of the United Auto Workers bureaucracy to collaborate with Trump, based on their shared "America First" economic nationalism, have accelerated in since the inauguration. Following the fascist spectacle of Trump's inauguration, New Zealand's politicians are pitching to "work with" Washington as closely as possible. A coalition agreement reached between the winners of the Irish general election and a group of independents marks a sharp rightward shift, in preparation for global instability, the fascistic presidency of Donald Trump and new assaults on the working class.
