The dismantling of Medicaid, in the face of growing popular opposition to Trump's program of dictatorship, war, mass deportations and social cuts, marks a new stage in the social counterrevolution. The fascist president threatened that the facility would also be used as jail before deporting US citizens. "Many of them were born in our country," he said. "I think we ought to get them the hell out of here too." Federal agents detonated explosives to raid a Los Angeles home without a judicial warrant as part of Trump's lawless, fascistic crackdown on immigrant workers and democratic rights. The strike shows that the conditions are emerging for a mass movement across the country against austerity, not only from Trump but the Democrats who run most major US cities. The fate of the rule exposes the complete control of the government by the corporate oligarchy. Israel regards its Palestinian citizens as the enemy within and a target in its US-funded war against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq. The wrecking operation needs to be stopped, the pilots halted and USO "reform" opposed. The mail service will not survive this vandalism, and postal workers cannot endure these sweatshop conditions. The new contract is a slap in the face to the ancillary workers, cooked up behind closed doors between management, the union and Berlin's state government. The storyline involves rivalries and conflicts that inevitably surface at Mountainhead among the four swollen economic interests and egos The ruling class and the capitalist political establishment will try to exploit any opportunity to suppress the deepening political crisis and divert attention away from the mounting class tensions. The annual report of the Bank for International Settlements has pointed to the decades-long slowdown in the global economy, exacerbated by Trump's economic war, and the "vulnerabilities" in the financial system from the escalation of government debt. Ward Sakeik, a 22-year-old Palestinian woman who was born in Saudi Arabia, has been in ICE detention since February against her fundamental rights and faces deportation to a third country she is neither a citizen of nor has ever lived there. Washington is using the tariffs to force countries to further align with US war interests and substantially boost military spending. The union bureaucracy has shut down the strike of 1,300 workers at precisely the moment when a broadening of the struggle is needed. The open letter and the response it has generated speak to the depth of the anguish, shock and anger felt by healthcare workers as they bear witness to the atrocities occurring in Gaza. Premier Chris Minns' state government is inflicting austerity measures on workers to satisfy the dictates of developers, corporate investors and the financial markets. Nova Scotia resident Lisa Adams was kept for 16 days in a solitary room with no running water or flushing toilet under lighted observation by sight and security camera, and with no privacy whatsoever for the entire duration.
