The G20 summit convened Friday in New Delhi, India, against the backdrop of the debacle of Ukraine's offensive and a deepening economic, political and social crisis of American capitalism. There are increasingly clear indications that Fain and his administration are preparing to block a strike at one or more of the companies and announce a pro-company deal. The budget, which is currently being discussed in the Bundestag, is a declaration of war on the working population. According to a recent report from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, between January 1 and July 31, Canada's carbon emissions from wildfires totalled 290 megatonnes, already more than double the previous record for the entire year 2014. With hundreds still missing and Lahaina in ruins, government and media officials are working to coverup of the scale of the disaster. Successive Indian national governments, whether led by the far-right BJP or the Congress Party, have transformed the country's workers into an expendable "resource." While climate change and global warming are drastically changing weather patterns, capitalist governments have refused to take any serious action to mitigate the devastating impact of these widely predicted catastrophes or to provide adequate relief. The Raac scandal underscores the scale of social vandalism in a society run as a feeding trough for super-rich parasites, fuelled by the exploitation of the working class.
