Dear reader, Here are the latest articles published today on the World Socialist Web Site. The mass worldwide demonstrations in defense of Gaza are a critical and welcome development. But it is necessary that the fight against war be rooted in the working class and acquire a distinctly class character. Events over recent days make it increasingly clear that the far-right Netanyahu regime is carrying out a vicious campaign to ethnically cleanse the northern regions of the Gaza Strip, while intensifying military operations in the West Bank and on Israel's northern border with Lebanon. The stand of Barcelona port workers, amid worldwide protests against the genocidal war in Gaza, shows the potential for the working class to intervene politically to halt the war. While workers and youth are demanding an end to the Zionist state's NATO-backed genocide against Gaza, Spain's national union bureaucracies openly support the Israeli war on Gaza. Any serious examination of the UAW contracts' terms reveal that they are a continuation of the corporations' class war against workers. Most workers boycotted the meetings, where union officials dodged questions about the sellout deal. Based on archival footage assembled over more than a decade by the legendary director Herman Axelbank (1900-1979), Tsar to Lenin provides an unparalleled film record of a revolutionary movement, embracing millions, which "shook the world" and changed the course of history. As millions in the world are demonstrating their opposition to Zionism the DSA is scrambling to coverup its role in supporting Israel's actions. Last Wednesday, roughly 30 Columbia University (CU) students staged a walkout of a lecture given by 2016 US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The canceling of the elections comes amidst a profound military and political crisis of the Zelensky regime and exposes the NATO propaganda about the defense of "democracy" in Ukraine. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Home Secretary Suella Braverman have denounced protests in fascistic terms and called for this Saturday's demonstration to be banned, using its coincidence with Armistice Day and the flowing day's Remembrance Sunday as justification. The extent to which official politics, the media and security authorities are disregarding the basic democratic rights to freedom of opinion and assembly is breathtaking. Although contracts for their 420,000 members expired more than seven months ago, Monday's half-day strike was the first job action called by the Common Front inter-union alliance. SEP members were hounded by union officials in an attempt to prevent them from speaking to workers and distributing material opposing the destruction of jobs at the Molycop steel plant, minutes away. Protests have been growing in Malaysia as workers and young people express their revulsion to Israel's war crimes against the Palestinians. The conflict between President Marcos and Vice President Duterte expresses the geopolitical instability created by Washington's aggressive drive against China. "Mobilising the international working class is the only way that we can get out of this situation and prevent future wars. The only solution is socialism." Albanese's official trip to China, following a state visit to Washington, is bound up with the intensifying US economic and military pressure on China, accompanied by escalating preparations for war. The opposition of artists to the Israeli onslaught continues to mount. Governor Michele Bullock wants the economy to slow further and unemployment to increase, as mortgage payments for home buyers rise by hundreds of dollars a week. Many young protesters, including Jewish, Arab and Latino came to protest, a reflection of the fact that the current genocide in Gaza is not a "religious" "racial" or "national" question, but an attack on the entire international working class. Now in its sixth edition, Racism without Racists has been central to the development and dissemination of the racialist outlook that currently dominates academia, much of the media, and significant sections of the political establishment in the United States.
