Emergency relief and the most basic social infrastructure, including earthquake-resistant housing, are neglected as capitalist governments pour unlimited resources into war. One year after the invasion of Ukraine by the Putin regime, the imperialist powers are preparing a massive escalation of the war, which increasingly raises the threat of a nuclear world war. Behind the smokescreen of rhetoric about "democracy" and "liberty", the imperialist powers, basing themselves largely on fascist and ultra-nationalist forces, are preparing an escalation and geographic expansion of the war in Ukraine, which threatens to soon engulfe all of Eastern Europe and bears the danger of a nuclear catastrophe. Prominent Left Party politician Sarah Wagenknecht and her husband Oskar Lafontaine are trying to steer the opposition to the Ukraine war into a nationalist dead end. In their opinion, Germany should pursue its geopolitical interests independently of the US. At South Shore University Hospital, 800 nurses voted by 99 percent to approve a strike on February 27 for better staffing and higher pay. The initial NAC news release said the Feb. 17 "Black Out" performance of Aleshea Harris' Is God Is would be for "an all-black identifying audience" and the vendor Ticketmaster listed the event as "exclusively" for black people.
