The ludicrous campaign is aimed at fostering a pro-war atmosphere, and to legitimise the escalating US-led war drive against China, which is viewed as the principal threat to American imperialist hegemony. The same government that claims to be addressing the historic injustices done to indigenous people is seeking to make the working class as a whole pay for the crisis of global capitalism. The SEP is running in the NSW election to help build a revolutionary party of the working class, directed against capitalism, which offers nothing but social misery and an expanding series of existential crises that threaten the very future of humanity. The Socialist Equality Party is standing three candidates in the March 25 New South Wales state elections: Max Boddy in the Legislative Assembly in the Bankstown electorate and Oscar Grenfell and Mike Head in the Legislative Council. 2023 will be characterized by mass opposition of teachers and school workers to intolerable working conditions and mass infection. Teachers and school workers must learn from the experiences of the past three years, having been betrayed by the trade union bureaucracies in the interest of the capitalist state, and form independent rank-and-file committees to carry forward their fight!
