To prevent the impending sellout, all public sector workers must break free of the control of Verdi and the other unions and build independent rank-and-file committees. India: Part-time public-school teachers in Kerala protest low wages; Bangladeshi research institute workers strike over unpaid wages; Australia: Queensland power maintenance workers strike for higher pay; New Zealand teachers impose work-to-rule over stalled pay talks.
