Dear reader, Here are the latest articles published today on the World Socialist Web Site. The Socialist Equality Party and the World Socialist Web Site support the call by the International Workers Alliance of Rank-and-File Committees (IWA-RFC) for an independent investigation—led by rank-and-file workers—into the entirely preventable death of Ronald Adams Sr. As US President Donald Trump continued his tour through the Middle East, Israel escalated its mass killings in Gaza, bombing two hospitals and killing at least 80 people in a single day. More than five weeks after the fatal accident, the Adams' family, co-workers and the public have yet to receive any information from MIOSHA. At the hearing, Kennedy doubled down on nearly every major anti-scientific position he has taken, while attempting to falsely portray looming Medicaid cuts as eliminating "fraud and abuse." Freuding's insult to the memory of the millions who were murdered by German fascism must be understood not only as a provocation but as a statement of policy: No less than in World War II, German imperialism will rely on fascist forces to achieve its goals. West, one of the most financially successful rap music entertainers in history, has emerged as an unrestrained admirer of fascism in recent years. Responding to Starmer, Corbyn again confined himself strictly to suggestions of what Labour should be doing, while offering no means of opposing what it is actually doing. The workers were seriously injured in a fire that broke out inside the construction site of a new Amazon Web Services facility in New Carlisle, Indiana. At stake is not just the future of USPS as a public entity, but the democratic and social rights of everyone. At stake is whether this country will become a dictatorship. While United Workers Union officials described PepsiCo's pay offer as "insulting," the union's claim is scarcely higher and would still leave workers worse off in real terms than they were in 2019. If the talks between the US and China had failed to produce any lessening of the tariff conflict, the downward spiral in financial markets that started after the April 2 "Liberation Day" would have resumed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. As young people move to the left, the government is seeking to stop them accessing an anti-war and socialist analysis, and organising strikes and protests, through social media. Even under the threat of an all-out war that could spiral into a catastrophic nuclear conflict, India's opposition parties—including the Stalinist parliamentary parties—have rallied behind the Modi-led BJP government in the name of "defending the nation." Massive job losses in the German automotive industry are announced almost daily. The supplier industry is being decimated by insolvencies. The workforce reduction at NewYork-Presbyterian was announced amid a wave of job cuts in the healthcare industry, as well as President Trump's all-out attack on public health. After railroading all opposition, Atlanta's "law-and-order" Mayor Andre Dickens celebrated the opening of the militarized police training center dubbed Cop City. Members of NHS FightBack distributed copies of a leaflet advertising next Monday night's Zoom meeting, "No to Labour's NHS privatisation! Oppose mass staff transfer to private subsidiaries!" NHS workers took extra copies to share with their departments.
