What is known so far, and the manner in which the deal was reached, makes clear that the deal announced Sunday night to shut down the strike is a colossal betrayal. After the trip by US President Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar last week, Israel has launched what it called the "final" conquest of Gaza amid far-advanced US planning for the forcible resettlement of the Palestinian people outside their historic homeland. DOGE-imposed spending cuts left a skeltal staff at the National Weather Service office in Jackson, Kentucky scrambling to provide timely updates to residents caught in the storm's path. The march, the 27th held in London since Israel's genocide began 19 months ago in October 2023, was one of the largest yet. Darius Williams had 33 years at Ford and was one of the highest seniority workers at the Rouge complex. The rallies drew thousands of educators, school staff, students, parents and workers, reflecting the deep and growing anger towards the Trump administration's assault on public education. Building upon the legacy of Stalinist falsifications of the history of the Second World War, the Putin regime falsely portrays its reactionary invasion of Ukraine as a continuation of the struggle waged by the Soviet masses against fascism and imperialism. The Trump-supported negotiations marked the first direct meeting in over three years between representatives of the oligarchic Putin regime and the right-wing dictatorial regime of Volodymyr Zelensky. Addressing the Bundestag, incoming Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt concentrated on two points: closing the borders to refugees and the construction of a police state. More than 30 sources who served with or alongside UK Special Forces described the murder of unarmed Afghans in their sleep; the execution of handcuffed detainees, including children; psychotic killing raids; personal kill tallies; and the systematic cover-up of all incriminating evidence. More than 150 people attended the screening, which included a question-and-answer panel with director Michael T. Workman, civil rights attorney Thomas Seabaugh and student activists and community members, who had participated in the UC Santa Cruz encampment. Donald Trump issued a rambling and incoherent post on his Truth Social platform that included a thinly veiled incitement to violence against Bruce Springsteen. The election saw the Greens shift further to the right, campaigning for a pro-business coalition with Labor, adopting a program of militarism and dropping its campaigning against the Gaza genocide. The strike, the first at the facility in 37 years, involves nurses, mental health workers, social workers, clerical, environmental service and dietary staff. The attacks are a continuation of the longstanding assault on California's vulnerable homeless population, spearheaded by the Democratic Party. Ford workers in Cologne, Germany are ready to fight for their jobs. This was clearly demonstrated by their 24-hour strike last Wednesday. The DSA's "Labor for an Arms Embargo" campaign is a political maneuver aimed at redirecting growing anti-genocide sentiment back into the Democratic Party and union bureaucracy. Rather than organizing real action, the campaign offers symbolic gestures while shielding US imperialism and suppressing working class opposition. An arbitrarily imposed government strike ban on 55,000 Canada Post workers expires Thursday, May 22, amid intensified demands from the ruling class to slash postal workers' jobs and rights and make the Crown Corporation "profitable."
