The war abroad is accompanied by an attack on democratic rights at home. In the United States, the Democrats and Republicans have criminalized protests against the Gaza genocide and carried out mass arrests of thousands of students and young people. Similar actions have been taken in all the major capitalist countries.
In the face of repression, thousands of students continue to express their outrage. With the strike by academic workers at the University of California, the working class is beginning to intervene in opposition to war and in defense of democratic rights.
It is the working class that can and will stop the war and genocide. But it must be armed with an internationalist and socialist perspective. That is the role of the World Socialist Web Site.
