Gaza journalists, like Fatima, face extreme, often fatal, risks under blockade and during assaults, including murder, injury, harassment and starvation while trying to report. Starmer's authoritarian agenda could soon add the bodies of three British citizens to the toll of its genocide-supporting, militarist foreign policy. Adelaide Writers' Week faces collapse after 180 writers and numerous musicians boycotted the event and its director Louise Adler resigned over the Labor‑backed censorship of Palestinian author Randa Abdel‑Fattah. The Saxony state budget, supported by the Left Party and the Greens, is decimating social infrastructure and culture as billions are poured into the police apparatus and German rearmament. Despite the obvious and long foreseen dangers of fire seasons intensified by climate change, successive governments in Australia have refused to provide the necessary resources to prevent such catastrophes. Unions in Bolivia have broken off negotiations with the government of Rodrigo Paz, as strikes and protests continue against the elimination of fuel subsidies.
