Hello, The Trump administration's mass purge of federal workers is underway. Led by billionaire oligarch Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), critical public agencies are being gutted, and the Postal Service is being set up for privatization. Musk's DOGE is attempting to access the personal data of everyone in America, laying the groundwork to vastly expand corporate-state surveillance systems to suppress opposition. But workers are fighting back—and the WSWS is working tirelessly to organize this struggle. Last Sunday, over 150 postal workers and supporters participated in a powerful rank-and-file meeting to discuss how to stop Trump's attacks on the USPS and federal workforce. Organized by the WSWS, US Postal Service Workers Rank-and-File Committee, and the International Workers Alliance of Rank-and-File Committees (IWA-RFC), the meeting adopted a resolution calling for mass action to stop the firings, defend social programs, and fight Trump's drive toward dictatorship. The WSWS is leading the way in organizing workers to fight back—but we need your support to expand this struggle. The AFL-CIO and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) have refused to call for any mass action, instead proposing futile letter-writing campaigns while jobs are being destroyed. The Democratic Party has issued only the mildest criticisms of Trump's dictatorial actions, terrified that a genuine movement of workers could challenge not only Trump but the entire capitalist system.
