Cannon's Open Letter was written in defense of the essential political principles upon which the Fourth International had been based, in opposition to a form of revisionism and opportunism known as Pabloism. The imperialist powers have embraced Israel's war on hospitals, aiming to set a precedent for the mass murder of civilians in future wars against Russia, China, and Iran. The UAW is resorting to the most illegitimate and underhanded methods to push through its pro-company deal at GM and the other automakers. In a mockery of democratic rights, the UAW forced Mack Trucks workers to revote on a deal they had previously rejected by 72 percent in October. The bill, which is expected to pass the Senate quickly, does not include either major spending cuts or new funds for the wars in Gaza and Ukraine. Donald Trump shared a post by a supporter on his Truth Social network that called for a "citizen's arrest" of Attorney General Letitia James and New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron. In the leadup to the meeting, the Biden administration ratcheted up its threats, demands, ultimatums, provocations and trade and technology measures against China. Germany's coalition government fully supports Israel's genocide in Gaza and rejects any ceasefire. At the same time, it is aggressively pushing ahead with the war offensive against Russia. The only other political censure in the history of Congress—that of abolitionist Joshua Giddings in 1842—was bound up with the struggle against slavery that culminated in the Civil War. Outside parliament as the vote was taken, around 15,000 people protested demanding MPs back a ceasefire. The mobilizations in France and internationally reflect an increasingly open antifascist and anticapitalist conflict of the working class against the ruling elites. The sending of Spanish warships to join a US-led battleship group off Gaza exposes the hypocritical claims of the pseudo-left Podemos party to oppose the genocide in Gaza. The manifesto is a part the rising opposition of artists and cultural workers to the assault on the defenceless Palestinian population. With all terms of reference agreed behind closed doors by Royal Mail, the CWU and Falconer, the review was only "independent" from union members who were denied any say on the matter. The program had the character of an onslaught against the sole Palestinian panelist who was treated with disdain, including as he was describing the deaths of thousands of children in Gaza. Sri Lankan workers and students, like millions of their counterparts demonstrating around the world, speak out against Israel's barbaric imperialist-backed assault on Palestinians in Gaza. Healthcare Workers for Palestine - San Diego helped to organize a walkout and demonstration at the UC San Diego School of Medicine which took place November 9.
