Dear reader, Here are the latest articles published today on the World Socialist Web Site. Despite the total support of the governments of the US-NATO axis for Israel's genocide, despite the relentless media propaganda and threats against those who have spoken out, millions of people took a stand against war and genocide. Israeli officials reacted to escalating mass protests internationally against their war on Gaza by stepping up attacks on Gaza and calling for the mass murder of Palestinians. Their murders only underscore the tragic and horrific character of the deaths of thousands of those whose lives and accomplishments a broader public will never know. This speech was given by Johannes Stern, editor of the German edition of the WSWS, at the mass demonstration against the genocide in Gaza on November 4 in Berlin. Despite a near-total blackout in the corporate and government media, more and more people across the region are coming out to demand action to halt the slaughter of Palestinians. Under the rubric of "Project 2025," Trump aides are drawing up plans for authoritarian rule and the legal persecution of their enemies. A second-tier Stellantis worker calls for the rejection of the UAW-backed contract and expresses his support for a UAW ban on weapons for Israel. Protests against Israel's genocidal war on Gaza took place across the UK this weekend. The Socialist Equality Party (SEP) joined the demonstrations, discussing with protesters and distributing leaflets advertising upcoming meetings in London and Inverness On Saturday, thousands of people demonstrated in Liverpool, North West England, against Israel's genocidal war against Gaza. "Workers are the most powerful section of the country. If we could get all the workers to stop sending weapons, that would have a significant impact." Labour MP Phil Twyford was met with shouts of "Shame on Labour!" as he addressed a demonstration in Auckland against the bombing of Gaza. The Labour Party government supports Israel's mass murder of civilians under the lying pretext of "self-defence." The federation overruled a local resolution against providing equipment to Israel, while AFL-CIO president declared that the pro-Israel line set by the organization "must be followed." Healthcare workers across the globe are joining the mass movement against the continued genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. While professing hostility to the genocide in Gaza, MUA officials reacted with fury to a Socialist Equality Party member asking if they would take any action to stop it. The well-attended lectures at Peradeniya University indicate that serious layers are seeking a Marxist analysis of the crisis of Sri Lankan and global capitalism and the socialist program needed to fight. This column profiles important historical events which took place during this week: 25 years ago, 50 years ago, 75 years ago and 100 years ago. The Department of Labor has opened an investigation into an alleged payroll "glitch" that caused 50,000 United States Postal Service (USPS) rural carriers to go without paychecks at the start of September.
