Biden gives go-ahead for NATO attacks on Russia: A new stage in the escalating imperialist world war The American and European imperialist powers are recklessly escalating the war with nuclear-armed Russia towards a global conflagration, which can be halted only through the political mobilisation of the international working class in opposition to imperialist war. In a major intensification of the US political crisis, for the first time in American history an ex-president was tried and convicted on felony charges. Students, autoworkers denounce police assault on Gaza encampment at Detroit's Wayne State University The WSWS urges autoworkers throughout Detroit and the wider region to come to the defense of students, both at Wayne State and around the country. The crackdown will not stop at the students, but also be used to attack autoworkers opposing mass layoffs in the auto industry. The French president presents himself as a champion opposing the extreme right and representative of a progressive Europe. However, he calls for the war in Ukraine against Russia to be escalated and for increased military spending.
