The catastrophe in Turkey and Syria implicates the regional governments but, above all, the US and other imperialist powers, which have devastated the entire region in pursuit of global domination. With no public explanation, the United States has begun shooting down what it claims to be unidentified objects in US and Canadian airspace on a daily basis. The venal Saudi monarchy, which routinely assassinates its opponents, tortures, imprisons and beheads oppositionists and dissidents, and the repressive UAE provide the major props for Britain's defence industryone of its few remaining manufacturing sectors. The European powers used the EU summit in Brussels at the end of last week for a massive escalation of the war offensive against Russia. As the earthquake disaster, whose devastating consequences could have been prevented, causes tens of thousands of deaths, a campaign is unfolding in Turkey to hide the real culprits and deflect growing public anger. Many people living in the affected area blame not the "natural disaster" for the deaths and destruction, but the capitalists who, in their greed for profit, build buildings that do not comply with earthquake regulations and the authorities who turn a blind eye to this. Once again, it is asserted that all present social problems are the outcome of slavery. This theory imparts to the series its frenetic, almost dizzying and essentially incoherent quality.
