This cruel and vindictive decision means Begum, demonised as a "Jihadi bride", has exhausted all legal means of challenge in the UK and she remains stateless in Syria, deprived of all human rights. The Pacific Forum's intervention in the French colony's crisis is driven by concerns that the situation could be the spark for wider regional unrest. Workers and residents throughout the state must mount a campaign to defend healthcare jobs and medical care at Steward Health Care. Thousands of educators rallied in Valparaiso, Chile on August 7 protesting exploitative conditions, while hotel workers walked out in Montreal, Quebec City and Sherbrooke over wages.
