The agreement would increase military and border funding while cutting outlays for COVID-19 and IRS tax enforcement. Nevertheless, House Freedom Caucus Republicans denounced the deal as a betrayal and said they might seek to remove Johnson as House speaker less than four months after he was elected. The strike must be the starting point for a broad, international mobilisation of the entire working class.
