Trump's second inauguration is a declaration of war on the working class.
Backed by a billionaire oligarchy, Trump's administration is preparing an all-out assault on social and democratic rights, beginning with mass deportations, attacks on immigrants, and authoritarian repression.
Trump personifies the corruption, parasitism, and ruthlessness of a capitalist oligarchy whose vast wealth and power have grown for decades at the expense of the working class. This is a government of the oligarchy, by the oligarchy, and for the oligarchy, determined to protect its power through dictatorship and war.
However, as today's WSWS perspective explains, "Between the installation of the new regime and the implementation of his policies lies the resistance of the working class, which is entering into immense social struggles."
The struggle against Trump and the capitalist system he represents requires the independent mobilization of the working class. It requires a political program that unites workers across all national boundaries in the fight for equality, democracy, and socialism.
For over two decades, the World Socialist Web Site has exposed the lies of the corporate media, provided unparalleled analysis of global capitalism, and fought to develop the socialist consciousness of the working class. This work has never been more critical.
The WSWS is not funded by corporate backers, billionaires, or the state. It relies entirely on readers like you—workers, students, intellectuals, and young people committed to building a socialist future. Your contribution will help us expose Trump's fascist agenda, oppose imperialist wars, and build a revolutionary leadership in the working class.
This fight is urgent. The stakes could not be higher. Support the WSWS and join the struggle for socialism today.
