The Biden administration will do nothing to oppose the right-wing rampage in the courts and state governments. Even though China's response to Tsai's meeting with the US House speaker was relatively muted, the US continued its provocations, both military and diplomatic. The walkout at Rutgers coincides with the ongoing strike of 1,300 graduate students at the University of Michigan and strike at three Chicago-area colleges. While rank-and-file graduate students have shown important courage in defying aggressive threats by the University, they face urgent political challenges—above all, from their own union leadership. GSU staff and faculty join UPI members on strike at Chicago State University and Eastern Illinois University, where their strike has strong support in spite of attempts by the union to keep them divided. Assange has spent almost a third of his adult life in detention, for the "crime" of exposing illegal wars, diplomatic conspiracies and mass surveillance. Biden will arrive in Belfast in the evening greeted by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak but will spend fewer than 24 hours in Northern Ireland, travelling to Dublin Wednesday afternoon.
