The awarding of Musk's pay package is, at the same time, a declaration of intent by the ruling class to massively impoverish the working class through layoffs, austerity and the destruction of social programs. As the longest government shutdown in US history continued, Trump's Justice Department appealed to the highest court to block an order to resume food stamps. The militarized operation is the latest and most brazen offensive in the Trump administration's escalating war on the working class in the Boston area. ICE prevented workers from retrieving documents like work permits from their lockers, but instead "just took them." The letter, which provocatively clashed with Lula's federal government, represents a new intervention in Brazil's internal affairs. To encourage the widest discussion the World Socialist Web Site is publishing an interview with a resident doctor about the issues posed in the dispute. It is believed that the strike that saw picket lines in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro region was the largest strike of doctors and advanced practice providers in the United States. Despite calls to shut it down, Israel's High Court refused to close Sde Teiman in September 2024. Instead, the public uproar centres on the fact that the abuse was made public in the first place and by no less a person than Israel's Chief Military Advocate. Thousands of National Health Mission (NHM) workers held a three-day statewide strike in Assam on Monday demanding permanent jobs and equal pay for equal work. The firefighters union has shut down its limited one-hour strikes as the unions seek to contain the explosive movement of the working class expressed in the October 23 "mega-strike."
