The Trump administration has declared war on libraries, universities, cultural institutions, historical sites, museums and individual scholars. The drawing once again of even the remotest parts of Europe into the rapidly escalating worldwide struggle between the major powers for markets, raw materials and spheres of influence underlines that the working class in every country must take up the fight to construct a global anti-war movement. Ethiopia is experiencing its first recorded outbreak of the deadly Marburg virus, unfolding amid political unrest, displacement, and strained health systems. Pakistan has blamed India for a November 11 suicide bombing in the heart of Islamabad that killed 12 people and injured dozens more. Health Secretary Streeting is priming a leadership bid to replace Prime Minister Starmer, with Labour's support polling at record low levels. In the face of this offensive, the BMA leadership has repeatedly sought a compromise where none is on offer. The strike, they made clear, is a fight to defend both their future as doctors and the future of a publicly funded NHS for all.
