Dear reader, On Saturday, David North—chairman of the World Socialist Web Site International Editorial Board —presented the German edition of his book Leon Trotsky and the Struggle for Socialism in the Twenty-First Century at the Leipzig Book Fair in Germany, one of the largest book fairs in the world. With more than 150 participants, the presentation was standing room only.  The strong response to North's talk reflects a growing interest in Trotskyism and socialism, as increasing numbers of workers and young people are being politically radicalized by war, genocide, the pandemic, and staggering social inequality. The breakdown of capitalism and turn towards imperialist barbarism are driving ever-growing layers of the population to search for political answers to the problems they face. The WSWS and the International Committee of the Fourth International alone are fighting to provide a genuinely socialist, internationalist, and revolutionary program.
