The WSWS also provides the essential historical clarity to arm this movement politically. In its recent webinar, Nazism, Big Business, and the Working Class: Historical Experience and Political Lessons, chaired by David North, leading historians David Abraham, Jacques Pauwels and Mario Kessler discussed the class roots of fascism and the role of big business in bringing Hitler to power. The event drew critical parallels to the present crisis, demonstrating that the struggle against dictatorship today, no less than in the 1930s, demands the independent revolutionary mobilization of the working class for socialism.
This is what your donation makes possible. Every WSWS article, photo, interview and online event represents the work of an international team of reporters, editors, and video producers. While the corporate media suppresses opposition, and has almost entirely ignored the protests, the WSWS exposes the truth and advances the fight to build a conscious socialist movement.
The No Kings demonstrations expressed enormous anger and determination, but as the WSWS explained after the protest, "For this movement to go forward, the demonstrations must be critically evaluated and placed within the context of the overall political situation. The danger is that, without the articulation of a clear perspective, the enormous popular impulse of opposition will be dissipated."
While the Democratic Party pleads for "bipartisanship" and works to derail opposition into safe, pro-war channels, the WSWS insists that the fight against dictatorship must be rooted in the independent mobilization of the working class, uniting workers across industries, borders, and continents on the basis of socialism.
That is what your donation to the WSWS achieves. It sustains the only publication fighting to arm the working class with a scientific understanding of the crisis and a socialist alternative to capitalism, fascism, and war.
The ruling class has declared war on the working class. The WSWS is organizing the fightback—politically, internationally, and on the basis of socialism.
