Dear reader, Here are the latest articles published today on the World Socialist Web Site. The response to this latest war crime perpetrated by Israel reveals the vast gulf that exists between the rulers in the North American and European imperialist centres, and the working class. The attacks are currently centered in the Chicago area, where Trump is seeking to incite confrontations with peaceful protesters in advance of sending troops. In an escalation of Trump's efforts to establish a police state, a journalist reporting on anti-genocide protests was arrested by New York police and three others were brutalized by ICE. On Friday, technology oligarch Jeff Bezos, the world's fourth-richest man and the CEO of Amazon, bluntly admitted that the US economy is in the midst of an economic bubble centered on technology stocks and claimed that this is "good." In attacking Lenin, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, mouthpiece of the Frankfurt stock exchange, has reached deep into the moth-eaten anti-communist propaganda of the Cold War because it fears that a revolutionary, Marxist perspective will again find mass support. Whatever the weaknesses and confused or poorly developed elements, Anderson deserves full credit for making an appalled and outspoken film "We are faced first and foremost with a political struggle. It's not just Canada Post management that wants to slash jobs and undermine our rights, but also the government and all of corporate Canada … as a test case for the shredding of all public services." Against the fascist policy of destroying healthcare, workers must demand healthcare as a social right for all. This requires the expropriation of the private healthcare industry and the creation of a public healthcare system under the direction of healthcare workers themselves, not corporate politicians. Rolling internet and cell network shutdowns are now a feature of everyday life across the country. The film-star turned politician Vijay and his upstart TVK party make populist promises appealing to mass anger over chronic poverty and joblessness, but their criminally negligent treatment of their supporters has tragically laid bare the reactionary, class character of their politics. The Declassified Australia report is an unanswerable exposure of the Australian Labor government's active involvement in Israel's mass murder of Palestinians. "We've passed the tipping point… we are primarily a parcels business that also provides a loss-making letters service," the postal service CEO declared. The tragedy has been leapt on by the most right-wing forces to intensify their crackdown on protests against the Gaza genocide, and the campaign to brand anti-Zionism as "left antisemitism". The merger of the Labour Party and the Greens is a political trap engineered to legitimize the capitalist order and channel mounting popular discontent into a parliamentary dead end. The chief medical and health officer for the March of Dimes, states that the US is "one of the most dangerous developed countries for giving birth," noting that the 20,000 infant deaths annually nationwide are "the equivalent of a jumbo jet crashing once a week for an entire year and killing everyone on board." The massive explosion at Chevron's El Segundo refinery, narrowly avoiding mass casualties, exposes the deadly consequences of corporate cost-cutting and bipartisan deregulation amid America's crumbling industrial base. The Dissanayake government's attack on Mannar residents follows its repudiation of election promises to delay the environmentally controversial project. WSU vice-chancellor George Williams confirmed that his agreement with the unions meant a "net loss" of 193 jobs, plus a supposed "merits-based" process forcing hundreds of staff to compete for "new roles." South Korean airport workers strike nationwide; Tamil Nadu railway workers walk out over staff shortages; Sri Lankan public sector university academics strike nationwide; Australia: Queensland Transport and Main Roads workers fight for shorter week This is the threat to Iran: capitulate to Washington's diktats, end the nuclear programme and the alliance with Russia and China or face another, far more destructive, military assault.
