The health secretary declared that regulators have the power, "to set conditions that a healthcare professional must work under, suspend them, or strike them entirely from the medical register." As the government imposes brutal austerity measures, including more than 2,000 job cuts in the healthcare sector, tens of thousands of nurses and healthcare workers have stopped work across the country. The election of Donald Trump is a critical event whose political repercussions will be felt throughout the world. This fascist demagogue has won the 2024 election with both an electoral and popular vote majority. He will be re-installed in the White House on January 20, 2025. The election of Trump and his cabinet of reactionaries signifies the brutal restructuring of global society being carried out by the financial oligarchy.
